I'm the founder and I built this site to better understand the withdrawal effects of Cymbalta of someone who was close to me.

This is what she sent me...

The concerns that I have that are more significant to me are the all-over body and joint aching, the insomnia, the tinnitus, the easy bruising, the cravings for sweet food and alcohol, the brain zaps, the mental fog, the memory loss, the crying spells and other things that I’m sure I am missing.

She's very special to me so any help for her is appreciated.

First of all thanks for this wonderful site. It has been a blessing to so many. Sorry to hear about your friend.

These symptoms are part and parcel for Cymbalta withdrawal and will fade in time. Muscle aches and pains are often times helped with Epsom salt baths but if it is joint pain it may be a matter of time. L-Theanine (the Suntheanine type) has also had some success with the pain for some members. There has been little success for the tinnitus except time. This symptom also has the tendency to be one of he last to fade.  Omega 3 works well for brain zaps. Usual dose is 3000 mg of an Omega 3 high in EPA and DHA. It may help with memory loss as well. I would also suggest a long hard look at the ebook. There is so much information that members have shared in there you/her may come up with some other ideas.

Absolutely, she may as well be reading directly from the PIL with what she has. There is nothing there that hasn't been mentioned many times from other members. Hat has covered the best route to follow for the ailments, and it also might interest her to know that, unknown to many, there are serotonin receptors in the inner ear which explains why some people get hearing issues which they feel should have nothing to do with an antidepressant.

Along with Suntheanine, KSM-66 Ashwaghandha can also aid pains as well as anxiety, but must be taken in gaps of 2/3 weeks with a few days off inbetween as most report of the efficacy being reduced when it is taken continuously.

And a thanks for me for taking over the site and implementing some changes - is truly appreciated.

Worth mentioning also Ken that the craving for sweet and sugary foods will be as a result of the reduction of norepinephrine which is the precursor to adrenaline in our systems. During a taper, and specifically after the last dose, the brain has to work out all the levels again for itself, as it was previously established by the Cym. So the brain will be throwing out all sorts of measures that are way off. Loosely translated, more norepinephrine = more adrenaline = more energy used up, and thus the body will crave what is necessary to bring up the blood sugar levels.

There is not harm in satisfying these calls in small doses, so you can advise your friend that she should carry some candy with her and to eat one or two when she feels the need.

Thanks again for the forum updates. So grateful.

Any possibility on moving the time limit between posts? I know it is a spam device, but as we have never had issues with spammers in this respect....
