Having quit cymbalta almost three years ago, i have not kept up with the price of the generic duloxetine. It didn't go generic until right about the time i stopped.

Are you getting gouged? the price for the generic duloxetine w/out insurance coverage in May 2014 was around $250. where is the price now?

I am still on lamotrigine, the generic lamictal. it is for seizures and/or mood disorders. i've been planning to wean off it but was taking my time getting started because of the trauma of cymbalta withdrawal. i was prescribed the drug for an "alleged" diagnosis of bipolar disorder - not seizures. the price of the lamotrigine has been $13 a month at my pharmacy - with insurance - for several years. today i walked in for my refill and it was $90. i was told w/out insurance it would $145. it used to be $45 a month w/out insurance.

the customer service agent at my insurance company said that he's gotten a dozen calls just today about various generics going up in price 500% or more. he said the generic market is very volatile right now - he doesn't know why.

it was a rough couple of years, but i feel so much better after quitting "C". CBT has been the effective treatment for me. time to wean off lamotrigine. at least this time i know about a slow steady taper instead the "fake taper" of every other day for two weeks. we all know that is cold turkey.

i don't post often these days, but please check with your pharmacy before you go in for your next refill - of any drug - so you won't suffer sticker shock - at least in public ;-)
