I'm pretty sure it's withdrawal because I did eye tests on these floaters in may and all tests were okay back then.

Appointment made on the 22th of november. I go for the laser treatment so the floaters are gone

thanks for the support G en FH :-)

htsp,

Please stay at that dosage until you are stabilzed before you start dropping again.

This may take a week or two, but this is not a race and there is no time line.

Please remember to be good to yourself...

You were used to going down by 5 mg at a time and tried 10 instead.

It just did not work. I understand your frustration, it's temporary HTS! Be cool.

Drops almost always get smaller as you go further down in dose. eventually you may be dropping 1 or 2 mg every 2 or 3 weeks. As the girls said this is all about time and patience.

Hi HTP,

I don't know about the vision, as for the anxiety, that should resolve itself.
Still in Belgium?

it's the second day in a row that I wake up and that my conditions are stable and normal. I will take the 25mg till the end of this week and will try go down to 22.5mg.

As for the 5 htp, I take 2x 100mg a day and I can say that I'm not anxious.

My sleep is strong, my cold feelings are almost gone, my pinchy skin isn't getting me down...

My sporting behaviour is pretty energetic again alltough my strenght isn't there anymore  ...

Let's kick that ass!

Happy to hear that your vision will be checked tomorrow.  I hope the results are good, but I know this will take a lot off your mind.

Good luck and please let us know the results!!

I think that the 5 htp supplements are causing the blurred vision. I think I have to stop taking it. what so you guys think?

Hi, take a look at the word game, Fishinghat posted today info and references about 5HTP. Not read it yet but for sure good info.

Down to 20 maƱana, you know the drill, should it be intolerable then you know what to do!

Always interesting to read you and your updates. Moscow on the seventh or am I lost in Wonderland again?

Hi HTSP

If you look at that literature I posted on 5HTP you will see a warning about a condition called Eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS). While rare this is not that uncommon in people who do not properly use the drug. If due to dietary or metabolic reasons your body does not process enough 5htp then the development of anxiety is likely. Obviously taking 5htp brings some relief in these cases BUT 5htp has a fairly long biological half life so once your deficiency is taken care of you can build up excess in your brain which can develop into EMS. As you can see below (Compliments of Web.md) blurred vision is one of the early signs of EMS. Strong reflexes, dilated pupil sand lack of coordination are also early symptoms. The correct procedure for use of this supplement is to very slowly ramp up dose until you achieve maximum benefit. After a few days begin to very very slowly reduce dose until a minimum successful dose is found. Unluckily most work up to the most effective dose and stay there. Eventually excess builds up in the brain causing the EMS.

I am going to start a thread, probably this evening on 5htp and a couple of other related supplements.

Rare: Eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome and Neurological problems:
Abnormally sensitive reflexes.
Blurred vision.
Dilated pupils.
Loss of muscle coordination.

See physician always: Neurological problems and muscle pain.

See physician if severe: Diarrhea, difficulty breathing, irregular heartbeat, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.

I would not drop it as that would drop your serotonin levels and make your withdrawal worse. First of all, what dose are you on?
