CayMan Islands  - see what I did there???  :D

Cayman Islands - British Overseas Territory

The Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory, encompasses 3 Islands in the western Caribbean Sea. Grand Cayman, the largest island, is known for its beach resorts and varied scuba diving and snorkelling sites. Cayman Brac is a popular launch point for deep-sea fishing excursions. Little Cayman, the smallest island, is home to diverse wildlife, from endangered iguanas to seabirds such as red-footed boobies. Capital: George Town

Hi Hat! How are you??

IUN, I don't like that term (NN) either, I won't type it out!

Matrix interference

For example the matrix of some wastewater samples.

OK, I know what you are going to ask. What the heck has the mad hatter talking about,

In chemistry the matrix is the part of a sample that is not what you are analyzing.  For example if you are analyzing water from a stream for copper. If that water also contains zinc, chromium or a couple of other metals it can interfere with the analysis of the copper.  The heavy metals are part of the matrix but not what you are directly analyzing for. This occurs in many types of spectrophotometric analysis as well as gravimetric, galvanometric, chromatography and other analytical methods. ''

Did I mention I was also a chemist?  lol
