Unit operation
Very use to this term.
In chemical engineering and related fields, a unit operation is a basic step in a process. Unit operations involve a physical change or chemical transformation such as separation, crystallization, evaporation, filtration, polymerization, isomerization, and other reactions. For example, in milk processing, homogenization, pasteurization, and packaging are each unit operations which are connected to create the overall process.

successful weaning
I now this term well but I used the wiki definition to save time. Basically a 'unit operation' is a single step in a process. For example if you want to make a piece of lumber you need to cut down the tree, cut up the tree and then sand it down to size and make it smooth. This is considered a process or a combination of steps. Each single step in that process is considered a 'unit operation'.

unanimous consent
In parliamentary procedure, unanimous consent, also known as general consent, or in the case of the parliaments under the Westminster system, leave of the house (or leave of the Senate), is a situation in which no one present objects to a proposal.
