up-lifted

Liz, I sent him there yesterday with some special hamburgers for her and Max as a gift. She welcomed him in for few to rest and he ended up staying the night.

Sorry but there was no other answer for me. All I have to do is look at my wife and my friends here and know how much the Lord loves me.

Forgiven acts

Raven, can Bob make it next week instead of today? It will be a hectic day for us here, would rather wait. Thanks!

I have thought things over about Bob, and I am not quite ready for a relationship yet. Makes me too nervous. Perhaps Liz would like to meet him?

Glad that you are feeling better BB.

Well, now....Raven, perhaps I might like to meet Bob!

Sorry your day will be hectic, Gail, but hopefully not having Bob visit will relieve some of your tension

Good Morning all!

I'm finally sleeping well!  Yeah!  although now I feel like I'm extremely tired when I wake up in the morning,  I guess this is power for the course.

done deal

Gail - I have sat Bob down and had a long talk with him. He understands that you need time and is sorry if he scared you. He would still like to visit next week and give you the gift, even if you are not going to pursue a relationship. He said it was something he saw and thought of you and wants you to have it.

Liz - I can have him visit you if you would like.

Thank you so much Raven, next week will be fine.

Liz, good thing for the therapist. Max will be home around Oct 15th or so, after he has visited BB.

Good for you Bobbi! Things are looking up.

Hi Handsome! Fruits must be ready by now, busy bee you will be.

graciously correct

Just finished with 8 bushels of pairs. Just started on jujubes. About 1/3 finished with chestnuts (so far about 60 lbs) and in three weeks or so start digging sweet potatoes.

Hive, hide

No roots? No nuts? No seeds? Later perhaps.

And why would that be, Mean Lean Machine? And you follow through easily?

Oh, FH!  You can't even enjoy the fruits of your labor! :( It all sounds so wonderful...

Raven, it would be nice to meet Bob, but perhaps he would rather wait a while - seems that he was quite taken with Gail! :)

It's now to the point where I can't keep track of where Max is anymore  - yikes what a traveling capybara!

Was out all afternoon - errands and massage and am now watching Cubs' game that I recorded - OY!!

Posted 14 September 2016 - 05:57 PM

here goes

I have had high triglycerides all my life. A genetic condition. It plugs arteries similar to the way cholesterol does. My original levels (many many years ago) started at around 3000 (it is suppose to be below 150). Anything over 300 is considered high risk, So the standard diet is no more than 4 oz of red meat twice a week, no more than 4 oz of fruit twice a week, no more than 4 oz of root veggies twice a week and the same for skim milk.. No melons, no seed veggies, no lettuce, as few carbs as possible (except fiber) but I can eat skinless chicken (white meat only) and fish twice a week (yuck). I did that for maybe 15 years and my triglycerides came down to around 2000. I decided to carry it a step further and triple boil my beef, chicken and turkey to skim off as much fat as possible. That brought me down to 1000 to 2000 on the triglycerides. Now during all these years I was jogging 3 miles 4 times a week to keep my arteries open. In Nov. of 2013 a cat scan revealed my pancreas was 95% triglyceride saturated and may fail at any time. That is called non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease. At that time I decided to cut out the 4 ounces twice a week of red meat, root veggies, no seed veggies and no breads that is greater than 30% carbohydrates. I am allowed spinach and some squash. With these changes I not only dropped 54 lbs and felt better but my triglycerides are down to around 300 now. It really dropped when I stopped eating fruit. That is why I started on the Omega 3 because it is suppose to lower triglycerides. My next physical will tell the story on that.

So because of my triglycerides I can't and never will be able to eat real food (I haven't ate out in years and years). Because of Cymbalta and PSSD I will never have sex again and because of my health and especially my wifes health issues (multiple back/neck surgeries) there is no time to go fishing or exercise. We have cut down six fruit trees, cut our garden in half and got rid of all flower gardens  and other time savings steps which has helped but not enough. More reductions to follow. With a number of legal issues that have occurred in recent years and pending in the future that relate to my work history we have spent over  $100,000 on lawyers fees and more too come.

But it is Ok. We are a little bit apathetic but OK.

sour grapes

A big case of sour grapes. Gail, incase you don't know, sour grapes is when something that you thought would go one way actually went a different way. Like Cymbalta withdrawal.  lol

I am sorry about the recent rants. It is just sometimes it boils up when you are required to relive the trauma over and over for more than 20 yrs. On the good side, a fella has to have something to complain about.  lol
