done over
Yikes! As technically-challenged as I am, I have spent an hour and 1/2 on the phone w/HP from last nite to my recent call just now...
I ordered the wrong cartridges for my printer and am now trying to find out how to return them for a refund - SHEESH!
I'm pooped

You know what they say about smart electronics (lap tops, cell phones, tablets, etc. It always looks the darkest before it gets totally black!!!

Gail, that's absolutely awful ! I'm with FH, pack a bag and come on down here ... obamacare sucks and is eroding our medical system, but you'd still have had the surgery within days of first getting the diagnosis ... grrrrr

everywhere apathy
My wife and I have had a total of 8 surgeries and 9 major tests in the last 6 years. We have never went any longer then 7 days to het any of them done.

yep, and if someone has a diagnosis of cancer, a tumor, etc, it's a push immediately to surgery ... Gail, can you go elsewhere in Quebec for treatment? Or to another Province? (I've had friends here in the state who's docs have arranged for them to go out of state for essential surgery, if it couldn't be done fast enough in their area hospital(s), for example.)
We're praying for you, Gail ... and for your docs, and for the "system" to work !

Kick ass and take names, Gail !! This is your life, you health, your well-being .... not the time to be hesitant, passive, accommodating .... you Canadians are way too "nice" ... go for pissed off New Yorker (think Carleeta or me, on a "bad hair day")
If you need backup, just say the word and a few of us will head up there to deal with the doc(s) on your behalf ... Lord knows, we've got enough experience from fighting with our own docs during our respective crapalta (and other) health sagas !

quickly assessed
Gail, Yup up in in NYC we say it the way it is and live a very fast pace life. The word which gets you exactly what you want is "I Demand..." trust me this works. There is no waiting here if you have the right doctor. They operate immediately, depending on your diagnosis, of course. The only hold up here and mostly everywhere is the insurance companies; what they will pay and the paperwork which goes along with it.
Yes, today I had a totally bad hair day...urghhhh.
Liz, somehow someway you'll get your ink corrected. I take the whole box with me when I go.
Gail, wishing you the best.....

defined clearly
I was reading some internet sites that indicated that this criteria for dr appointments, surgeries, tests, etc were put imto place when nationalized medicine was established and has been like this for years. It is interesting to note that there has been complaints from drs and hospitals across the northern tier of American states that have complained about an 'overload' due to people coming across the border from Canada to get more immediate care.

Unfair regulations
Gail, I feel the your government is unfair only because having lived in the US all of my life I'm use to our ways. You on the other hand are used to your conditions. Either way, your medical is good in areas where ours are not and visa versa. You are almost there. I wouldn't change or start looking elsewhere especially if you have the faith in your physician/surgeon. It's all about the outcome. Everything is going to be alright. I feel you are in the right hands. I'll pray for your calmness, heart, and health.

regulations regarded
Hello everyone.
Carleeta-I love your new avatar
I was out yesterday from work and I felt like from life. Started the night before with really bad chills. I just could not get warm, went to bed early and turned on the electric blanket. Woke up yesterday with low grade fever, headace and pure lethargy. I am so lucky that my children are of ages they can handle things for the most part when I'm sick. A little better today but still feeling a bit withdrawn.

So glad you took the day off from work, Raven ... you and Emoo amaze me and inspire me ... husbands, children, jobs, and withdrawal / recovery ... wow !
Hang in there, it does get better ... gradually fading ... but all the various "symptoms" sure can be exhausting tho', can't they? A seemingly never-ending litany of different aches, pains, "stuff" ... I remember the "chills" ... and the "low-grade fevers" ... like I said in a recent post somewhere here, I wore out several heating pads ... plus several of those "chill packs" that are filled with silicone "peas" ... all the various little tricks of the trade we develop for dealing with the "symptom du jour"

Awww, thanks you guys!! I don't feel to awfully inspiring but I can agree that my children and husband are very inspiring. I have gotten a lot of tough love from my husband but I wouldn't change any of it. For some reason the only way he can get me to see how I am being when I kick into what we call "IT" mode, is for him to be really abrupt and harsh but it gets me down. I just wish that this wasn't the case and he could just tell me and I could agree with him.
