now morning
I sat up half the night reading Superintelligence by Nick Bostrum; it's now morning and I wonder if I should try to sleep some or just push on with the day and resolve to get to bed early tonight.
Gail, you are absolutely correct C'est La Vie is a song by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. In the 70's Greg Lake spent some time living in Paris. He did not speak French, but it's impossible to be unaffected by that glorious city and its citizens. Lake knew the famous French expession 'c'est la vie' ('that's life'-- a kind of dismissive phrase Maurice Chevalier might have used when falling in love-- and then falling out of love), and with the help of lyricist Pete Sinfield, Greg Lake wove it into a song.
It came out in 1977 on the Works, Volume 1 album.

coffee too
"Spring and autumn are beautiful here but for the rest, I could pass my turn.
C'est la vie! Emerson, Lake and Palmer by the way. TM, is that right?"
Boy did I screw up!! I thought you were referring to the first line about spring and fall. No matter how I searched I couldn't find that in a song. Yeesh! What a dumby.
I still can't listen to music as it makes me too anxious. In fact I usually watch TV with the sound off and the close captioning on. Less stressful (and less noise). But whatever works.

from me
Gail, I would say that it helps about 85%. I am still very sensitive to noise, anger, sudden movements, a lot of activity around me, having conversations, etc. But on the other hand that is better than curled up in my closet on some blankets screaming in fear (been there done that). Comparative to the other meds I have been on I would say Zoloft is as good as any. They all seem to bring me back to the same level of anxiety.
