Liz, about memory, boy this got me scared last week.
I was sitting down to watch TV, and I could not figure which button for the on off. Had to take my glasses out to check the remote control! And find the right button. After 3 years of using it, I had a blank. Alzheimer episode. Didn't like the experience!

done for
Nope, no fever. And these symptoms began BEFORE I started weaning down on the Cymbalta. My psychiatrist, a second psychiatrist, and two pharmacists all agreed that it's too high of a Cymbalta dose, and that I need to decrease. They've seen it in other people who can't tolerate a high dose. I am already at 80 mg, down from 90. Am going to slow my taper down now though.

I can imagine it. What did you just say? What do you mean? What were we talking about? And maybe at the end, Who are you?

story book
It's playing out like a story book-- symmetrical, with beginning, middle, and ending.
Regarding the memory loss issue that surely is common to us all to one degree or another-- apparently it's a "use it or lose it" kind of proposition like regular muscles, senses, and faculties. Here's a note on how doing crosswords (or similar mental exercises) hones mental acuity, and indeed delays the onset of degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's.

A walking encyclopedia. I remember G Campbell with his Wichita's lineman. I used to listen to him often in the early eighties.
Liz, got you covered this afternoon, and many others including myself!

"Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live."
This poem is titled Resume, and it's by Dorothy Parker from The Portable Dorothy Parker.
As you probably know, Dorothy Parker was a wonderful writer with compelling and bitter-sweet material.
