Repair shop

Funny how I remember it all. The music, the way we dressed with shirts bought a the army supply with small bullet holes in them. Sweaters two inches above the belly button and jeans, only jeans with patches.

Good old times! With good music.

FH, you are too young to remember or is it too old?♥♥

Gail, I remember when Woodstock happened but  I was from a little older generation. If I had showed up they probably would have thought I was a narc. lol

Food poisoning

Do I ever remember the guys saying " watch out, the narc is close by"
You are bringing up souvenirs.

I lived in a town of 6000 habitants, the guys had their guns on the back seat to scare the rival gang. Rat hunting at night at the city dump. More fun then!

poisoning slowly

That beats "moonshining".  To go moonshining or to take a girl shining was to get a small amount of oil. Go out on a night with a full moon, pour some of the oil on top a mud puddle and then watch the moonlight shine off the oil. It makes a rainbow effect on the surface. Cheaper than cable!!! lol

but then...

But then, I remember my younger son drinking some horrible wine called "Night Train" which of course I was not aware of until I read what he wrote under his picture in the School Senior Section Yearbook about willing his trips on the Night Train to someone...

Sheesh!!! KIDS!

Hi Gail :)

Then what?

Baby duck was the first for me, I hated the taste of something stronger. But then, we change!

But that kid is still in me, I got to look in the mirror to realize that I am not that young!

Gives everything

All mirrors should be banned. Spirits don't have problems with that because all they can see is the true soul. Wish I would be that way.

One day...good night Liz♥♥♥♥

everything back

The reflection in the mirror gives everything back. There in the glass, light infuses an image of the truth; it's an organic record, a living receipt. There is a cost to living, and it's written there. Yes, there is smoothness in the innocent face of a child, like the bare canvas unpainted or the placid stone awaiting the loving hands of the sculptor. But in the face of a mature woman or man, there reflects the record of a heart broken and mended and broken again, the pain of a child being born, the bitter-sweet embrace when that child stands truly alone and leaves home, and the incomprehensible anguish of a child dying.

Hard choices made; tough love; sacrifice.

It's all right there.

And it's a beauty-- a radiance-- that can truly be appreciated, honored, and loved by another mature human being. Liz, dear friend, I wish that you live long and flourish!

Take care.

and worse

Gail, sometimes I feel like an alien. Not only have I never never had an alcoholic drink but I have never had a cigarette. I have been know to utter a curse word when under stress/pain but that is limited to once or twice a year.  We will not elaborate on the fourth sin (sex).  lol

Worse than

Fisherman, look closely into the mirror, as I am sure that you will see a kind of halo above your head. Your wife married a saint, now, is it one or two miracles that is needed to be proclaimed Saint?

best plans

My wife says I am too cheap to smoke or drink. lol

Ramona, I agree with TM's post. But just incase it is withdrawal I would stay at a slower rate. Say 4 or 5 beads a day. Do you have a fever?

Your wife sounds lovely Fisherman. What a lucky man!

I guess it's too late to start the smoking and drinking. Put that money in the piggy bank, for your retirement♥ or to bring us all on vacation!

I still have this short term memory thing where I have a forgotten word and sometimes don't think of it for hours! :(

Yes, FH, I agree with Gail - your wife is a treasure! :)
