Sorry you had to wait FN. This is all I have on discontinuation. Some are for cymbalta and some are not. I beleive the one you referred to is number 1828814. The third one after the article. Good luck.

Effects of gradual discontinuation of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in panic disorder with agoraphobia.

Abstract

The aim of this investigation was to explore the prevalence and features of discontinuation syndromes ensuing with gradual tapering of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), in optimal clinical conditions in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia. Twenty-six consecutive outpatients met the DSM-IV criteria for panic disorder and agoraphobia while taking SSRIs. Twenty remitted upon behavioural treatment. Antidepressant drugs were then tapered at the slowest possible pace and with appropriate patient education. Patients were assessed with the Discontinuation-Emergent Signs and Symptoms (DESS) checklist 2 wk, 1 month and 1 yr after discontinuation. Nine of the 20 patients (45%) experienced a discontinuation syndrome, which subsided within a month in all but three patients who had been taking paroxetine for a long time. Discontinuation syndromes appeared to be fairly common even when performed with slow tapering and during clinical remission. In some cases disturbances persisted for months after discontinuation.

To anyone new to this forum or to this thread.....

The wonderful law firm in California that xman learned about and first posted about here has taken on Cymbalta withdrawal...."discontinuation syndrome"..... on our behalf.....on behalf of not just those of us who come here to this forum for support, but on behalf of all those who have suffered, are still suffering, from the nightmare effects of getting off this poison.

They have seen what this drug does first-hand....the wife of one of their partners went through the hard, extended withdrawal hell that we are dealing with!

Contact them, please!

Here is the link to the notice they've just posted to this forum:

Essentially I am here for support and real information. On a journey away from this medication and towards a mindful, present state of being. My goal is to find courage, my hope to help someone along the way. Change.

Thanks to you ALL for coming together on this. The end goal is to prevent others from learning how life altering this drug can be first hand. To belatedly answer a question from Anna, I do not know if this encompasses the generic, tho I am inclined to say yes. Call or e/m Zachary. Look at beginning of this thread for his info.
I spoke with an unrelated attorney and he didn't see how there could be any negative effects in the endeavor for seeking counsel from this firm that has a very good reputation.

i was already deposed on my case. i was nervous but it was not as bad as i thought. do not be afraid - be strong. fight these bastards. they do not care one bit about the harm they have caused to the thousands upon thousands of us. many of us have been permanently injured bc of this drug. the one thing that the attorneys are starting to see is the memory loss pattern. not mentioned in any Eli Lilly warnings for CYMBALTA. Hoping they remove this poison from market. this forum saved me from ending my life. i had no other place to go - doctors all thought i was crazy... with comments like, 'this cannot be withdrawal after 6 months!" HA! how dare they? I am still going thru hell after 2 + years off this drug. You better believe i am fighting them.

Tomitsu, thank you for sharing that! If I may ask, was this a personal injury case, or a class action against Lilly? And how are the prospects for a good final outcome?

Had a very bad experience while undergoing Cymbalta withdrawal that I wanted to share.

Posted 11 August 2014 - 10:24 PM

I just contacted the law firm mentioned in the first post to get involved with the law suit. I gave them my story. Hopefully that's enough.

This is an evil, evil drug that needs to be taken off the market.

I too am past the 2 year mark with residual symptoms from Cymbalta that are likely permanent. I haven't gotten on board the law suit yet, but am considering it. I fear how the process might impact my family, and therefore I've been reluctant to participate. I intend to talk to the KR firm though.

Is there a timeline that KR has mentioned?
