Sitting here patiently waiting for my cable man to arrive. It seems there is difficulty with the strength with my internet, home phone, and loss of cable channels. This is going to be a very interesting morning. Just waiting to hear what they have to say. One thing about me is I have no problem speaking my mind. lol lol lol lol.

I started at an early age, say 6 or 7 and have went down hill since. lol
It reminds me of the old Mark Twain saying

Yes TMF and FH, I do speak my mind....don't actually know what age I started at, although I know I was young...lol lol lol. I do speak it with elegance though....lol lol lol. Usually I always start with something nice and wonderful to say, and then I ease my way into what I really need to set straight...lol lol lol. When it happened to be a cable woman...yes first time I had ever seen one. Of course she knew everything (like every other cable person which has come to my home). Now mind you, I cable whole house DVR which is not cheap and I am able to stream the HBO, Cinamax, and the rest of them on to my tablet and laptop (which was quite helpful when I travel as I can watch what ever I like). Now here comes the cable person telling me the cables are all fine outside...REALLY! Here I know the problem is inside and I actually know what the problem is because a very good friend of mine worked for the company many years ago and he came over to visit me and seen exactly where the problems are. In reality when they fishtailed my home they used a very small cable instead of the bigger cable which will hold all the newer cables boxes for the HD screen TV's.... Well she plugs in her little gadget to read strength of the boxes .and of course they are ok. So I asked her to read the strength of the wire itself. She was not going to do this....hmmmm. Now my great niece knows everything which is about to happen. She goes into the other room away from me because she knows she is going to start laughing because I'm going to make some kind of sharp remark to the cablewoman. I look her straight in the eye and ask her again if she could please check the inside cable wires, please. Once again she states no and states there is no reason to do it because everything is ok. Therefore, I turn on the tv and show her how many channels I am not receiving. Ok now she reboots everything (which this is what they tell me on the phone to do for the past few months and it hasn't successfully worked).....Ok she reboots and Waalaa the channels are still not working....Now she is confused (not me)....I know demanded her to check the cable wires coming into my home or I would call the cable company and request a supervisor to come to the house (I had my home phone in my hand). Well naturally she did what I asked and found there was practically nothing coming into my house. lol lol lol lol ....Before you knew it she called a supervisor to come over and he did. So now he goes through the whole process of the cable boxes again and rebooting and does not believe it the inside cables. He finally checks the inside cables and find out these wires cannot support the new equipment of their own high tech boxes and to my equipment...lol lol lol . He finally realizes who ever put these cables in over a year ago used the wrong cable wiring....lol lol lol. Therefore all new cable wires need to be put through my home the correct way "at their cost"...lol lol lol lol. After all this the cable woman left and the supervisor stayed and had some coffee and fresh pumpkin bread....lol lol lol. I positively never cease to amaze myself!

Way to go Carleeta!!!
I have a problem with our garbage people....
I have an invisible fence for the dogs and after the garbage was picked up on Thurs. my control box in the garage started beeping - meaning a wire was broken somewhere. Interestingly enough, not only was the curb broken next to my driveway, but there appeared to be dirt next to the curb where there used to be grass. The wire is buried just within the lot line and I asked a neighbor to come over to check it out.
We came to the conclusion that since we couldn't find the wire they must have broken it and then buried it. Since I have no problem speaking my mind either, I called the town office and said that I wanted the trash company to pay Invisible Fence for the repair. This would be a minimum of $70 ! They said they would call me back this afternoon (no, not yet) and that the town would have to take care of the curb problem. Sheesh!!!
It's always something and I also get so mad when other people don't do their job correctly!! I positively hope that I will get a call on Mon. or I will be calling back!

Talk about various people/professions you don't like. drs and lawyers. In my old age I have found out that it is easy to dump an idiot dr and find a new one. It is like throwing away an old hole pair of socks that doesn't serve its purpose.

OMG, I stopped by to do a "drive by posting" of some new research, and to check on my friends ... I see that you are all in rare form, and I'm laughing my a** off ...
Carleeta and TFL, I love your new avatars! I also see that BelaLugosisDad has come back ! (Has ThisMoment reappeared?)
Life in my corner is pretty ok these days ... I had a rather bad "crash and burn" with the anxiety a month or so ago, but that seems to be just a part of the long-term pattern ... I'm still working full-time for PBS (the telecommute gig), and am planning on cutting back to part time at the beginning of next year ... I'm "wealthy" now that my social security early retirement has started up (hahahah ... wealthy ... social security ... I crack myself up ... but then again, after how far I fell thanks to crapalta withdrawal and a year out of work, down still looks like up !)

Positively enjoyed my second Luncheon of this month. The Power of the Purse it is called. All donations go to helping Woman and young girls getting their start in the world. It brings many opportunities to the less fortunate and helping towards a beneficial future. It was extremely positive. My future niece in law who is about 19 years old found this luncheon exactly what she needed to get started in college.....yipeeee

Just found this one. I will have to visit is daily as well.
Positively tickled as my children walk into my office this morning. My mother in law had an appointment at the clinic I work for and my children came with her today. They always brighten my day. If anything else positive happens today I will share.
Blessed Be,
Raven

I love this thread. Haven't been here myself in quite a while...ha ha ha ha ha. It's positively been a positive day as I completed the centerpieces for his graduation party on the 18th...
Still have the thank you favors to make and then I'll be off to the party to have a great time. This party I will positively enjoy due to the fact I won't have to be giving it at my home and it will be at a restaurant.
Raven, isn't it wonderful to find the positive parts of the day even though we are suffering from the horrible effects of discontinuing cymbalta/anti-depressants.......

Raven, You are blessed to find something positive.... I'm happy to see this.
My positive for today is I have a wonderful loving family which drives me completely nuts....lol lol lol. My five days off from work has just turned into 5 days of more work than working...lol lol lol .
My great niece who is 11 years old is here from Florida and her and I were going to spend 3 days of alone time. Not any longer...lol lol lol. First, my niece and future niece in law, came by today and asked, since the weather is only going to be in the high 60's, if I would consider having a little surprise graduation party for my great niece from Florida on Sunday. Second,my son calls me and asks me if I could babysit my grandson starting tomorrow morning. Third, Lowes called and said they were on their way with my outdoor furniture for my balcony... Positively, PANIC sets in...lol lol lol. No need for a valium I stated, I'll take one if and when needed this weekend....After all this, there is a Fourth, I asked my son not to forget the car seat, he stated, OK. Thee calls me back and told me it's a new car seat now and I'll have to google how to put this one in. Oh my, Oh my, Oh my. There are these clips I need to find under or behind the seat in my car, make sure they are clipped in, then get the seat belt fastened properly and make sure its tight. I asked him if he could just do it for me in the am because it's going to be a bit difficult.... Of course he has an early meeting and won't have time. Thank God, my future niece in law will get here at 6am to help me out with my grandson and the car seat.. lol lol lol. My 11 year old niece will positively love her little cousin (my grandson) to be in the car when I pick her up. She'll also love her future sister in law to be in the car too, This is all so positive. Now my pre positive is how am I to give a surprise party when the quest of honor is going to be here? lol lol lol. I'm shopping with her tomorrow for the decorations, cake ordering, and etc. My niece and future niece in law offered to take me shopping for my grandson and 11 year old niece. I positively accepted. After all, they carried all the groceries in....lol lol lol. Now to worry about tomorrow is left til tomorrow, positively.....lol lol lol....to be continued...........

oh Carleeta, you are amazing ... just reading all that put my introverted self into a "vicarious panic attack" ... I come from a big Irish "clan," but all our antics and activities pale in comparison to your Italian "tribe" ... I love your descriptions, but I wouldn't survive the first 5 minutes

I positively have new kitchen cabinets and appliances !
And I not only positively emptied out all the cabinets and the fridge to get ready for the project, I am now positively putting everything back ... in my crapalta days, I never would have put anything back, likely including the food ... oh hell, let's be honest ... I lived with a stove and fridge that didn't work (oven/broiler and freezer didn't function) for the entire 7-8 years I was on crapalta ... because I just didn't care ...
I am back to caring ... :-)
How's the new 'puter working for you, TFL ? But that's sue a big budget "owie" for the car ...

Today just ended for me.....yipeeeee. I'm positivly awake. I should be exhausted, although the opposite. lol lol lol lol. here is it 11:34 pm and Im ready to go out and dance...lol lol lol. Only kidding. I'll save that for my nephew's graduation party on Sunday. DJ and all. Dancing shoes here I come. Second, thought I might skip the dancing and just mingle..
Positively worked 10 hours straight today from home (was to have today off from both jobs...hmmm), Yup interviewed three new employees for what was my nieces company and now I've become partners with her (where in the world is my mind,,,?????.... lost it I guess). Nope, I'm positively not going to give up my job at the lab. After early retirement I couldn't stay home no matter how bad my anxiety is or my pain. For some strange reason my mind is positively on every thing else and not myself. Anyway.... after the interviews and hiring, there was much scheduling ,coping, xeroxing, emailing, and faxing the glass of wine was poured by my niece and i positively sipped it so slowly while I watched her take all the decorations down.....after all I am the matriarch of the family....I love that title in my family....lol lol lol lol.
The surprise graduation party went off without a hitch. Held it in the family room where we hid and no one was in sight until she came in looking for me. She was all dressed up thinking her brother and future sister in law were taking her out to a very expensive restaurant in out area. She had no clue......She was so excited to find out how much her family loved and thought of her. This had to be the best day ever for me. Positively!. Everything looked so beautiful, she looked beautiful, and we were all so reserved as if we were in this very expensive restaurant.....until.....my little sweetheart decided to take one of the gorgeous blue flower off the cake and turned to her aunt and smudged it on her face....lol lol lol lol .. Our professionally reserved family went back to their childhood and before I knew it most of the family all joined in on this frosting face competition....Oh my, oh my, oh my..from 11 year olds to 47 year old. My poor furniture and rug had frosting all over it....Blue, green, and red frosting to boot.... Nope, I didn't PANIC at all although the family did....ha ha ha ha ha.... They were rushing to sink with paper towels and blotting everything... I just let them do it.. ha ha ha ha ha.... After they were done I asked them why the PANICED...of course they are all very respectful of my belongings. They asked me why I wasn't getting upset. I calmly told them I have coverage on all my furniture where if a stain wouldn't come out they would get the stains out or replace the furniture and the rugs are stain resistant. They asked me why I never told them and I told them they never asked... It was enlightening to see their expressions, their fear, their respect, and their love. ha ha ha ha ha ha. I also told them ALL were summoned to my house on Wednesday at 6:00 pm to finish the remaining 100 favors which needed the 'thank you" tags and bows.. Guess what?.... They are all coming. I'm positively blessed with my loving family. I positively DID NOT need to take a valium. I positively saw the love, child like behavior, and loving smiles shared with all of them. This all positively filled my heart so much I shed tears. Oh by the way, my son surprised me and had the car seat all set up in my car the day I had my grandson. He just likes to ruffle my feathers so he can hear some Italian words come out of my mouth...lol lol lol. Yes, he heard them....lol lol lol lol. Now off to check emails as I'm on the commitee for my 45 High School Reunion. My positives for today and a few days prior have positively been positive.......yipeeeeeeeee!

I am positively tired this morning, but I am also positively happy. I am positively happy because for the first time in a long time this morning during out morning family madness, I look up and my husband has this smirky smile on his face. Usually the craziness of the kids being giddy and silly first thing in the morning weighs on his patient's but I looked up and saw him just smiling. I almost cried it made me so happy. Because I have had two set backs in the past two weeks and to see him smiling in spite of all that gave me hope.
