    I want my life back!

Posted 02 October 2014 - 10:12 AM

Good morning all ... my positive for the day is that I actually slept 8 full hours last night! Well, I did make a couple of bathroom runs, but I sorta stayed asleep during them ... and, because I can't leave even a night light on in  my tiny apartment, as it bugs my sleep, I do my "runs" in the dark ... one of the 2 remaining kitties left me a nice juicy hairball ... right in the middle of my usual route to the loo ... managed to "sleep" through that clean up process as well ... had my morning cry about Sweetie, and am beginning to feel a bit of healing about him ... another positive ...

I cannot thank all of you enuf, my dear forum friends, for all of your kindness and encouragement these past few days ... well, the past 10 months!

And hey, there's another positive ... I just started my 11th month off the crapalta!! I'm still bruised and battered in many ways, but compared to where I was just a few months ago... wow ... miracle!

Well here is a positive out of the blue (sort of). I was off picking up my dry cleaning and running a few errands when I received a message on my voicemail. I immediately called this individual back and received the news asking me to come into my former lab because they are now going to put me on per diem (today) and I need to attend a lecture at 4:00 pm today, and some meetings on protocols. Thinking this day may come, and now it's here. What this all means is I will now be ready to work again at the lab if they need me. Okay, I'm as ready as I can be. My scrubs are on (I chose to wear them to work everyday, although they were not necessary), my 'sneakers' are on and I have my license ready to walk out the door shortly.

Congratulations on 8 hrs sleep - that is really a milestone!  It happens to me so seldom, unfortunately...

Of course, now I have all the runway noise going on which is no help - slept about 5 hours last nite in the living room - couch not as comfy as bed, but a little further from the noise

Everything was checked a short time ago and the drying is going well, so they think they can remove all the fans tomorrow. They actually added one more today (at no charge!).  Also, I seem to have lucked out regarding the walls - baseboards are wood and built in beneath walls which are plaster and all of that has dried - saves mucho dinero!! ;)

And YAAAAY!!! Starting 11th month off the poison - great news!!!

Hey TFL ... Bryzghoff and I are experts with the vinegar cleaning for mold and kitty poo .... if you find mold (not the kitty poo) cropping up, just let us know ... we'll be there with our spray bottles, rags and some "elbow grease" pronto :P

I appreciate the offer, but this is one of the problems they are avoiding with the use of all of those huge fans!   There had  better not be any mold... :)

Hopefully, tomorrow nite I will be able to sleep!!!

Oh, TIF;). Great news! I am thrilled that the 'fanning' is working and no damage to walls, wood and baseboards! That's a real blessing;)

Congratulations on 11 months today! Cheers, my dear;). Even with the challenges you have faced, and I have kept track!, you are winning the battle and continue moving forward with your strength and determination to beat this discontinuation bastard. So proud of you<3

I'm positively home, and before it got too dark out. Lol lol lol....my last three hours were so intense, much info, and needed to stay totally focused. Amazing enough I was able to stay focused. After the lecture I went through the lab, to familiarize myself with new physical changes and new parts of the lab. I will need to report for any and all lectures/meetings, although I will not have to do any physical work unless I am absolutely needed. The lab itself is working overtime due to the env 68. All my blood work was taken when I arrived, and drug testing was done when I left. The positive part of this was I will be paid for the hours I was there today...lol lol lol....I'll be paid for any lectures I attend. No physical work yet. Was given my security pass to enter the hospital, lab, and secure areas.

It's positively been an eye opener for me today..

TryningFl, don't know if I'm happy, although I was anxious on my drive there and back. One thing I'll state about my anxiety and working at the lab; my lab is in a hospital (not owned by the hospital) and when I started to get very anxious I just told myself I was in the best place possible because the er was right there. ..lol lol...it's true I didn't think about my anxiety nor feared it...makes sense to me...lol lol

Yipeeeeee 9 months off cymbalta. ...so proud of you....

That's just wonderful, Carleeta! Isn't it a great feeling to know that you can function in your old professional capacity ...  that you are needed there, valued, and .... paid ! And you don't have to "work" the physical stuff anyway, just yet ... gives you time to build back up to it gradually ... wonderful, just wonderful!

So it's the EVD68, eh? I think I just read somewhere that it may be causing paralysis in some children who get it ...??

FiveNotions, I was called back because of the ebola scare causing nationwide fear, and to get as many workers as possible as there might be a need for more staff. Lectures were on CDC required protocol, the actual ebola virus strain (photos) it's birth to its mutation, and all safety and bio hazardous precautions, all the highest level alerts for health care workers and any individuals. The lab itself has been doing busy because of the env 68, although that has nothing to do with if I am called back to work. Right now I'm just being briefed on updates, need to attend lectures, seminars, and meetings (it's OK if I miss some because I could do conference calls/and or a Co worker voice tapes all these) take tests...yes I need to take tests on material I read, and all knowledge of lab work, hospital codes, safety, and etc....that's it...I just have to be ready to work in high alert, which is what the hospitals are preparing for right now! It truly is a national scare, as most of the pp are fearing the unknown.

It's 9:45 am...contemplating what to make for a family get together up in the mountains. My niece is making a delicious Italian dinner and to my surprise she is also making baked potato soup (never had this, although other families have). Since this dinner is for my son and daughter in law and my new grandson to finally get up in the mountains to relax, I'm thinking what type of dessert can I made....hmmmmm opened up my receipt box (I have recipes filed seasonally...lol lol) I think some nice pumpkin bread would fit nicely. So off to the store to purchase these ingredients. ...sounds like a plan.....lol lol

FiveNotions, my niece is making baked ziti, fried meatballs, Italian sausage, garlic bread and this baked potato soup (I laugh at the baked potato soup part, because I have no idea what it is...lol lol lol).

I'll bring the refreshments. ..I did make two pumpkin breads, and pumpkin cookies. (The pumpkin cookies are my sisters recipe, and the frosting is a favorite of my dad's..I decided to make these because my mom, dad, and sister are no longer with us and these were one of their favorites desserts in the fall)..

I wish I was able to share these with all of you...

10:16 pm....totally and positively exhausted...Truthfully I did way too much today...After shopping for all the ingredients for the pumpkin breads and pumpkin cookies (I needed everthing...didn't have baking ingredients at all for these recipes), caring them all in and putting them away should have been where I stopped...lol lol lol...Nope I had to make two different recipes because once I start, I cannot stop...lol lol lol...then I made sure I washed and put everything away...Had to take a break between the two recipes because my back, hip, shoulders, and hip were killing me...Now that I'm done I'm relaxing a bit and getting off my feet because every this is tingling. ...I'm positively calling it a night....

Carleeta, my positive for the day is .... you are positively amazing!!

Not sure I've ever told you this, but many many times when I sign on here, I have no energy, no sense that I can actually get up, get out, get going ... then, I read one of your posts ... all that you do, in spite of how your body feels ... and I somehow am able to borrow that energy, that "gutsiness" of yours ... and get up and get going myself ...

Thank you!

Awe FiveNotions, no I didn't realize my positive posts turn out to give you a positive push to get yourself going and get into a positive state of mind. I'm happy this has has a positive effect on you. I thank you for the most beautiful compliment I have ever received. I remember when I started this thread, one of my first positives was just positively washing my face and brushing my teeth... For me it's a mindset to either stay idle with anxiety or pain, or get out and be produce with anxiety or pain....If I'm going to have any of these issues I might be productive and enjoy some parts of the day, in spite of..

So happy this thread has helped you.....yipeeeeee

I was forcibly removed from my Cymbalta by my insurance company, and although my therapist assures me I am not going crazy, I would like some additional support

I'm going out today with my husband and Mother in Law to a Shrimp Festival in Beaufort, SC.  I'm feeling stressed and I'm going to have to take 1/2 klonopin fairly soon if I can't breathe it out.  BUT, I'm am dressed in non frumpy -stay in the house, who cares what I look like- clothes, WITH jewelry AND makeup.  I can't remember the last time I bothered to put on anything more then lip balm.  I can't remember the last time I put on more then my wedding rings as far as jewelry (and I never take those off, so I'm not sure it counts!)

Normally when I'm feeling stressed and anxious I would try and beg off going.  But I'm putting on my big girl panties and going and I will spend the day in the sun and I WILL have a good time!

shoshee, i believe you will have a good time. while we're all different, i find that i do my best in social situations and other environments where i am interacting and engaged.  i left work by choice that's when i got off the C. i cannot fathom how i could have worked during that time. we have members here that work through it and raise families - i don't know how they do it, they are a true inspiration.

my positive is that i am experiencing a real fall, leaves are changing color and i get to rake them up!!!

You cared enough about yourself to just go to this event, in spite of what you are feeling...You will survive this event...lol lol lol...you might even have a good time and forget some of your bad feelings. Just taking your med with you and not really taking it, just might what you need to get through this. I usually carry my meds which gives me such a safe feeling....Have a grateful time. ...let's us know how everything went....Enjoy....

It's positively raining here today and gloomy..lol lol..Chatted with some friends this am who were thinking of baking today..lol lol lol..Good idea I told them, because yesterday when I baked it was way too warm...lol lol lol..

Waiting for my clothes to finish in the dryer and waiting for my son, daughter in law, and grandson to pick me up for our day in the mountains. Getting excited because it's my grandson' s first trip to my nieces house...lol lol lol....My niece just text me she has the fireplace already lit..lol lol lol.....Her home is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. It's an actual home on a mountain. ..lol lol lol....As you all know about the wonderful animals I can see from inside her homr....lol lol lol..Saw a few when I was outside too....lol lol lol....Of course I didn't feel we should meet face to face...lol lol lol...

She just text me again...lol lol lol.....she needs wine..lol lol lol....as more pp are now coming....lol lol lol...She knows I always have wine ready in the wine cooler...Now I'm thinking I should bring all the pumpkin breads and cookies due to 6 more guests...hmmmmmmm. Guess I'll have to bring them all and make a new batch for friends....lol lol.....I'll be smart this time because I make them on separate days....

Taking my camera to get some photos of the fall foliage, they should be stunning today.
I wish there was a thread here where we could share photos of our choice.

I'm positively going to the mountains today!
