Carleeta...

And now you feel beautiful!  Good for you - that always makes me feel better too!  I'm sorry that you are still feeling sore - don't you go to the Dr. in a couple of days?  Sure hope that he can help you - good meds and/or that massage!

My positive for the day was a mani and pedi.   Can't do much else before the wedding now, unless I could get a "lifestyle lift"   Wow - would I love that!  Guess I'll have to win the lottery first!

5 months on cymbalta, scary side effects, to get help and to return the favor if I can.

Posted 30 July 2014 - 06:33 AM

My positive is that my daughter bought me a tablet yesterday.

I know nothing about those things, nada.

Almost lost my mind when this thing started answering questions, it talks. I almost screamed, I was in a state of shock.

Learning new things, that is a challenge.

Tried to send posts from this thing, could not, got lost.

And that thing takes pictures, my goodness, could not believe this

Well, I just emailed another job app/resume/cover letter ... each one of these things takes me ages to do ... I have to "recreate" my resume to "tailor" it for each specific job .... different "KSAs" for each one ... I'm so out of practice on job searching I had to look up what "KSA" stands for .... knowledge, skills and abilities ... coulda' fooled me ... more like "Kiss Some Ass" .... :D

My positive for today is I went for my manicure and pedicure..always excited to go and today was a bit different.. Unfortunately, my little feline has been acting out of sorts lately, and she has been 'living' in her liter box Finding this behavior odd, today I noticed drops of blood on areas she likes to cuddle up to. I called her vet and explained her symptoms and behavior, as I was talking to them, my little furry baby had a burst of blood. Well I immediately told them what had happened and they told me to get her there asap. My negative to this was I wasn't able to drive that distance, and I wasn't able to get her in her carrier (she absolutely hates it...lol)..My cousin told me if I needed a ride there she would take me. Now, getting her in the carrier was my second problem...Here I'm more anxious than ever, and she senses this, therefore this was not working well...lol lol. I put some fresh turkey on a plate and put that in her carrier...No way, she says....lol lol. She waited until I was supposedly not looking and peeped inside, snatch some and ate it outside the carrier...lol lol. Eventually, she got half way in...and I pushed her in and immediately closed the carrier...Yes, she was yelling and yelling and howling and howling...omg...lol lol. Although, all I knew is she had to get there. When she arrived, they were all excited to see her since she was boarded there for 5 months...lol lol. Oh how they missed her...lol lol. Dr. calls her is roommate...lol lol. Anyway, after he examines her he comes out to tell me she has a very bad UTI...she needs a shot of antibiotic, and she will need oral antibiotics for three days. Since he knows her and she is labeled "aggressive" he knew immediately she was not going to allow me to give her the antibiotics. Therefore, he felt, and I agreed she needs to be there for three days. It's a bad UTI he explained and she needed extensive treatment. Well home I came without my little baby and I'm missing her, although I know she is getting the care she needs. On the positive side, somehow and someway something made her get into the carrier at the same time I was looking and got me to push her in and get her up to the cat hospital. I'm positively happy she is there to be treated!

Thank you FiveNotions. Later I will be calling the vet to see how she is. My positive for today is I am going to try and drive to the doctor's office today with my cousin in the car. I am very anxious about this appointment and very anxious about the drive, although I am positively going there and going to give this drive a try... :)

Thank you FiveNotions....Just arrived home from dr. appt. what they found was severe arthritis in my neck..and little arthritis in my back. Had trigger point injections near my neck and shoulders.. Will have to go to physical therapy 2 to 3 times a week, and will need a cat scan of my lower back to see what that pain is. What's positive about this doctor is he is so very nice and remembered me from 5 years ago. He's soft spoken, calm, and so cute! Each time he injected me with a trigger point shot, I was tapping him lightly in the arms...lol lol..He laughs and laughs and tells his nurse how I always hit (tap) him in the arms when my answer is "ough that hurts" The positive to all this is..I did drive out to his office myself today (with my cousin in the care), and the news of the arthritis is much better than something more serious.....yipeee. Second, I called Isabella's vet today and she is doing much better and on some pain meds..lols lols...The cause of her UTI could be two things...one genetics, and the second her change in food. The girls that work there are a bit offended because she is not liking them this time around...lol lol. She has an attitude with them and they are disappointed she isn't loving them as before...lol lol. Tonight, I've been invited to the hospital lab (where I used to work) for a surprise party they are giving my son for the new upcoming baby. I'm positively going to try and drive there myself...I'm positively going to give this a try anyway anxiety and all....yipeeeee

Prayers for you and that sweet feline, Carleeta! KSA, FN, you crack me up! You have a multitude of KSAs! Your resume has just gotta be a good one! You seem to have great people skills and that will carry you far! My positive is that I finally took the plunge to volunteer at the elementary school just a few miles from home. It's actually where I went to school! But that was many moons ago, LOL! I am looking forward to working with teachers, kids and parents! I can do this!!! Hugs and prayers as usual!

Yes...yipeeee to all the positives with tables, hairdressers, volunteer work and KSA'S..lol lol. I did make it to the hospital for this event for my son...yipeeeee. I was a nervous and took my same old route there...omg. I did it...yipeeee..When I arrived, I had seen my old boss outside..She was hiding from my son and waiting for the food to arrive...lol lol. She had to let me in the hospital entrance to the lab, because my ID had been terminated once I retired.. Then I had to enter another entrance into the lab itself which needed access, and I was to call a former worker of mine who would come out and open the door for me. Well to my surprise, one of the lab carriers (carriers who deliver specimens to our lab throughout our county) was coming out and held the door open for me...lol lol. he said, "Carlalalala, did your hours change, I haven't seen you...lol lol. How I laughed and had to tell him I retired 2 years ago....lol lol. I was dressed very nicely, lol lol and when you looked down at my feet I had sneakers on....lol lol. Open toe shoes are not allowed in the labs..lol lol. Everyone laughed and laughed at my attire and then my sneakers which they knew I would wear...lol lol. What a lovely baby shower they gave my son in the conference room. My goodness these individuals had more fun planning this and giving this than I ever seen them do for the expectant mother...lol lol. Of course he received the cutest outfits for the baby that had "daddy" on them and "grandmna". The food they ordered, and made was phenomenal. There was this one drink one of my colleges made that I just had to get the recipe and share this with you all...She used fresh mangos, with probiotic plain yogurt, and a bit of water which she blended and i

continued....lol lol...it was delicious.  She stated you could also use canned puree mangos.....It had now been added to my died...although, I need to omit something before I gain weight...lol lol.  All my boss wanted to know was if she could add vodka to this...lol lol.  Its positively something sooo much better than the smoothies I make....lol lol....Well its been positively productive for me today...and all I can say is yipeeeee....

Carleeta...

What a wonderful evening you had!  I'm sure your son was thrilled - so cool!  I must admit, though, that I would love to have seen you all "dolled up" with your sneakers! :P

I'm proud of you for driving yourself - you're really doing great!

And to confirm what a wonderful person you are, here someone had remembered you even though you retired 2 years ago.  And what a cute nickname he has for you!

Truly a positive time! (That drink sounds wonderful :))

Accomplished much with getting paperwork in order, and filling in my calendar with all upcoming events...It's August already and I have many things to do before the birth of my grandson (which my daughter in laws due date is August 19th...yipeeee).  Need to get more organized before he arrives...lol lol.  Its positively been a good day today inspite of anxiety and back and neck pain......lol

Out of "likes" again - jeeessh, I wish we could change that feature!

Thanks for your excellent advice and good for you - cleaning up for kitty's homecoming - I know that you will be so happy to have her back!

Be careful not to overdo what with your back and neck - I have pain in those same places due to arthritis and I have learned to do a little at a time and then rest, repeat, rest, etc....

Yes, and grandmother time is almost here - I understand your impatience! :D

Take care,

Liz

TryinginFl...You are such a dear...I tried not to over do it, although once I start I just can't seem to stop...I did take breaks in-between...lol.  I decided to vacuum the chairs and couches, and etc...lol lol...Honestly I took my time.  I wanted to get my bed changed because normally I do it on Saturday's and my Izzy (Isabella is her name) gets too hyper when I change anything...lol. lol...and also because I wanted her to come home and just roam around as usual with no distractions.  The vet (her roommate...lol lol) stated she may still take up to 3 weeks before she is well.  I've left a foam bed cover on the floor of the family room area where she had her accident in the same plae incase she does have other accidents.

Im getting super excited for your trip...You leave soon don't you?

Hooray, Gail!

I will have to see about getting one of those - I am so technically challenged that it might be an impossibility!  It took me 3 months to figure out my phone, but then I bought it when I was only about 6 weeks off the poison so my brain was not all there!  I'm still not sure I really understand all of it, either, so will have my son help me with it when I get to Seattle!

Bye for now - still not sure this darn laptop will fit in my carry on, so if you don't hear from me, you'll know why!!

Love and prayers,

Liz

The positive is my little Izzy (Isabella) is home from the hospital. Her vet came out and told me his roommate didn't want any part of him this time....lol lol. He stated she kept growling at him every time he walked by...lol lol. He stated he asked her why she was growling at him because he's the one who was feeding her...lol lol. He also stated she is the only cat in all his years of practice which takes about two weeks to warm up to him...lol lol. He stated he loves her and she is his 'special' cat. He actually said this too in front of other cat owners....lol lol. He walked up to her to say 'bye' also. the girls that work there were so surprised he actually said this and personally came to see her off. He loves all his animals and the most wonderful vet in the world...He is positively wonderful and amazing.....Glad Izzy is home....yipeeeeee

my positive was actually yesterday. it was my husband's b'day and his brother and wife took us to cirque de soleil - "la nouba". unbelieveable! the music, the production, the stunts, the costumes, the effects, the lighting... everything was unbelievable. i felt overwhelmed at times. back in the day i spent years of my life in live music venues loud rock, blues, jazz, etc. but it was intense! i was crying - it was so good and so moving! i don't doubt that the C withdrawal enhanced my emotional response.

today i feel like i have a hangover from it

..Brzghoff...omg "la nouba" outstanding and heard this is the most mesmerizing avant-garde circus spectacle. You most have had the time of your life. Feels as if dreams sleep side by side, and you must have felt this same way. Not sure if Cymbalta withdrawal had anything to do with those high intense emotions. My nephew and his girlfriend had seem them and they were so touched by this they couldn't stop talking about it. Seems as though this might have the same effect on everyone; Cymbalta or not....So happy you enjoyed this...you deserve it.....
