We stayed until after dark... watched all the lights come on in the city, the monuments, etc... perfect weather, soft breeze, not too hot not too cold ...
Wish you all could have been there with me to enjoy a lovely evening!

FiveNoions, what chills ran over my body, reading your positive. I wish I was there to experience this phenomenal event. Just the way to expressed all this in detail, I felt I was there enjoying this with you.....wow...amazing.
Very nice to know its the Marines Chopper's which carry the president. I always wondered which one he was in... About 2 months ago the President landed at Griffis Air Force Base in Air Force One. and got into one of six choppers to get to the Baseball Hall of fame in Cooperstown, New York. Via television I watched him land In Air Force One and take off in one of the choppers...Went out on my balcony knowing these choppers would be passing over to their way to Cooperstown, and shot beautiful pictures of the six chopper formation, all the time wondering which one our President was in. I had chills then and I chills today reading your post and learning he always gets in the Marine Chopper. This was a positive today for me learning something new....
How excited I am for you and experiencing such a positive and exciting day.....yippppeee

To add to my story from last night ... I checked the prez' daily schedule for yesterday, and yep ... he was scheduled to fly to Camp David yesterday at 5:40 pm ... he's notorious for being late for everything (including all his tv appearances, press conferences, state dinners and even Medal of Honor Award ceremonies at the WH) ... so yesterday was no different... the choppers didn't leave their base until 6:15 pm ... we could hear them with rotors/engines running on the ground all the way across the river ... the USCG gun boat arrived at 6 pm, so we knew something was about to happen ... and, I mis-stated that all three choppers came back to base ... just two of them did .. the third, designated Marine 1, had to stay at Camp D ...
I figure Michelle must have been pissed at him about something and banished him to Camp D... he hates it there because there's no "good golf" ... apparently the short course that Robert Trent Jones designed for Eisenhower isn't good enuf for him... and mrs o and the first daughter won't go there because she says it's "too rustic and unsophisticated" ... (another little treat about living in DC and having once been part of the "K St/Capitol Hill crowd is juicy gossip.. tee hee)

FN...
What a wonderful post - wish I had been there! I am happy that you get out to do some wonderful things
My positive for today is that I saw my pair of cardinals almost first thing this morning - interesting, as I was having some very anxious thoughts at the time!
They lifted my mood and I hope I can keep the feeling today.
I have been feeling very down lately and continue to hope that it will fade in time...

Hello Liz, yes, cardinals. I really believe that they do bring a message. As soon as I hear one whisling, a smile pops up in my face.
Happy that you have those messengers around. There is something spiritual about those birds. You and I respond in the same way when they are around. Mood lift, smile. Love them.

Hi TryinginFL
I hope you're feeling better soon. I also hope the cardinals visit every morning.
I remember when my grandmother was very ill, I would sit on the sun porch every morning and this bird would come sit on the tree next to the house every morning. It made me feel like something special was there with me. I still remember the bird and call it 'Grandms's bird.'
Thinking of you and all our friends on the forum.

TryinginFl. ..I just do things because of a wise aunt's words..."A body in motion, stays in motion"...It's not easy, I just do it. ..Infact, my niece was going to pick me up today to spend a day in the mountains, and my stomach was off so I told her I would go next week...U Just wanted to be close to home and productive...thats all...Like I said, it's not easy I just do it and by pm I'm filled with love in my heart...

"I just do things because of a wise aunt's words..."A body in motion, stays in motion".
Your wise aunt is quoting an equally wise fellow, Isaac Newton; it's part of the first law of motion, from The Three Laws of Motion. The body will stay in motion unless acted upon by an external force- like the phone rings, a text message comes in, or a UFO puts down on the veranda.
The Three Laws of Motion are part of the larger work titled 'Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematicia', published in 1687. I have a friend who maintains that all Newtonian laws are based on sex! In support of her thesis she quotes from Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation- any two bodies attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
That means size matters, and the closer the bodies get the greater the attraction! I love science!

TM, you are one big bag of constant surprises! Who would'a thunk it ... Isaac Newton was really writing about the laws of sex ...

Thismonent. lol lol...yes my Aunt quoted this great mathematician. She was a great mathematician as, well...lol lol.. Im sure this is the reason she quoted him so much. She was always saying this and balanced herself very well everyday. She would get up early and do most things by herself, keep herself very busy, and very well dressed. It just sticks in my mind, how she used those words daily while bringing up her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. God rest her sole. We just lost her in March of this year...
The sex part of these laws are amazing, and I know my Aunt exercised regularly right into her 80's. This is so interested in relation to her mind and body. Wow...Thank you for the extras, Thismoment.....

My positive for today is making an appointment with a new GP suggested by my therapist. It isn't until the week after Labor Day as I didn't want to go any sooner. I hope I will get some understanding from this one...
If not, I guess I keep shopping!

Carleeta....
My younger son is getting married in Hawaii on Aug 8. I am leaving Aug 2 to stay with my other son in Seattle for a few days and then we will fly over there together. This is a really long trip and I must say that I am not looking forward to it! I lived on Maui in the '80's so going to Hawaii is not such a fun thing for me - brings back memories of my horrible last marriage - that's why I have been divorced for over 25 yrs!
I will be gone for almost 2 weeks and am looking forward to it all being over! I am going because I love my son and his fiancé.
I wish I could have lost another 20 lbs before now, but it is what it is - a little over 10 lbs has been the best so far...

Completed my series of neck and back x rays yesterday...yippeeee they are done. Its weird how much pain I was feeling when I had to take the x rays. I know x rays don't hurt, although my body was really hurting. It seemed as though it flared up out of no where again. I must have done something again to make it worse. Oh well we will find out what's going on. The negative part of this is my anxiety level is very high right now...lol lol. Oh well it time to be patient....lol lol. Easier said than done. Ill just start making the list of invites for which I will be giving the Christening for my grandson about a month after he is born. We have about a month to go before his birth and I am starting to become a very excited grandma...yipeeeee......
