I love when I can get up early and read; especially positives events.
Wagtail, I'm so glad you've found a good therapist; the more we talk, the less draining it is after a while.
The birds outside my bedroom window start @ 4:15 every morning. The alarm clocks, my dogs, are up around 5.
All are a pin in the behind, when I'm trying to sleep until 5:30.
Have a Safe and Happy July 4th Everyone.

FN... Good for you!
Sounds like good stuff you're snacking on! Sorry about the heat thing - I have the same problem down here but today it is really windy due to the tropical storm off the east coast, so being outside is bearable
My positive for the day is the aqua fitness class I took this morning and by 1 this afternoon I was exhausted. (Am not sleeping well at nite, so was thankful to take a nap!) After the 3 hour nap, I feel great! Things are starting to look better and I am taking the Alprazolam as RX states - 2/day. Taking 12 hrs apart and have been able to stave off the anxiety for now. I hope this continues!
Wagtail... I hope that your anxiety improves as you stick to the new meds - do that now!
Air3333... you are indeed lucky and I know that your age is definitely in your favor - YAAAYYY!!!
Clearglass... so good to hear from you - sounds as though you are doing well - I'm so happy for you!!
Xman ... please hang in there - I am almost at 6 months off and just beginning to feel almost human - you will get there!
Love, hugs and prayers to all...

Hi to everyone. I am now down to 30 mg. of Duloxotine. I'm staying here for awhile as I am going to be visiting my daughter in Oregon and don't want to count beads while I'm gone.
By bead counting I had very few bad side effects. I do take a half a Xanex a day to ward off the dizzy tipsy feeling I got from the withdrawal. .25 Xanex.
My pharmacist told me how to figure it out. If it's too much go to half that amount or even go less. I went less. One thing is to not be afraid to drop off slowly. It's getting off that counts. I drop 10 mgs. in 25 days. So it took me 3 months or a bit more to get down to where I am. If I didn't feel well with where I was in dropping I would stay where I was for about 3 days and then continue my dropping. It's progress not perfection. And personally I think the slower the better.
There are about 84-85 beads in my new pill per 10mgs. I divided 84 by 25 and I come out with 3.36 which would be my bead amount. I will drop 3 or 4 a day for 25 days and be down 10 more mgs. I will more than likely do 3 a day so it will take a bit longer than 25 days.
I started by only dropping one bead per day and as I felt better I went to 2 beads a day. You could try that too, but don't ever feel bad if it doesn't work for you. Drop at your pace.
Divide your bead amount by the first number of your mg amount. EX 500 beads divided by 6(60mgs.). Answer 83.333333. I divide that by 25 and get 3.3333333. So I am going to take 3 maybe 4 out a day and in 25 days or more I will be down 10 mgs. You can do this for any amount of beads you have. I hope this helps.

Last call I made was a few days in of down dosing off 30mgs of C-word & I went batshit on the phone & insulting the b&*tch that said I was prejudice!!!! Whhhaaaat!?? I couldnt understand her & ask her to speak slower, her indian accent was difficult at best to make out her responses...So, cancelled movie channels like that was going to piss her off, yeah, right, Rebecca...now you have no HBO etc to escape to!!

My positive for today was seeing my therapist! Have been dealing with some real anger and sadness issues - it helped to talk about them.
My song for now is "All by Myself"...

I let him read for a bit, and quickly did some googling, and lo and behold, came up with the Verizon customer support/sales script manual ....
I found the exact page he was reading from and started reading out loud right along with him, word for word, in unison ... when he gasped, and there was a break in his reading, I said that I wanted to talk to a real human being, and asked politely if there were any available...
click....

FN, that is hilarious! What an awesome trick you pulled on that person! It sucks for them, as they are doing their job for corporate kings, but maybe it is also hilarious for that person and probably provided for a funny story when they went home
My positive of the day: I started a blog on finding the light within depression. I started it for me so I could have an online safe haven. I distributed the link to no one. Within a day, someone started following, within a week, there are seven people following. I started this blog wondering if people would even be interested in reading the words I had to say, I suspected to never even get one follower. It feels nice, because I look at the blogs of those who are following mine, and we have so much in common.
Through this site and the blog I have been reminded that there are a lot of kind people online that can help with depression. There are people out there that can listen and know where I are coming from, it's lovely.

Carleeta, even if you changed your name/monicker, we'd still know it's you ...... what you've described doing in that one post is more "people activity" than I have in a year ... likely a decade :-)
So good to hear from you!!!!

You certainly could run circles around me - even with your bad back...

Thanks for this positive thread. I keep reading about the terrible withdrawals but nice to hear people have beat this and hopefully I will be that person in a bit. I weaned from 60mg to 30mg now off and still getting brain zaps and feeling crappy but coming here I hope to see more people beating it and gives me strength to keep on going and not feeling that I am going crazy. Thanks and best wishes to all of you.

Welcome blueyegirl49!
We're happy that you are joining us...you will find much caring and support here!
You mention that you have weaned from 60mg to 30mg and now off - did you do this cold turkey?? Somehow it sounds that way and if you are having brain zaps that pretty much describes one of the effects of the horrible cold turkey withdrawal. How long have you been off the 30mg and did you do any bead counting? How did you "wean" from 60 to 30? I am a cold turkey survivor of over 6 months now and it is definitely not what I would recommend - bead counting is much kinder to your body and brain.
