Essentially I am here for support and real information. On a journey away from this medication and towards a mindful, present state of being. My goal is to find courage, my hope to help someone along the way. Change.

FN I am positively having copy/ paste issues! As I was reading one of your links re: ACV I ran across a Dr Oz video and wanted to paste it...hmmm. Is there a trick b/c I usually highlight, right click to copy then paste. Tried to post to a clipboard and that didn't work either. I have an old Inspiron notebook and this could be the problem.

Otherwise the day has positively slipped by and it is 1020 CST! Clareeta has probably unpacked a few boxes by now!

Wishing everyone a good today. I also wish you better weather :P!

Hmmm....if you aren't getting the link to paste here, does the Dr Oz video have a title or some other "clues" that you could post so we can use "Dr Google" to find it? (I stole that "dr google" from one of you guys who used it recently in another thread...love it!)

Talk about a positive. I had a routine appointment with my psychiatrist. As most of you know I am working my way off lorazepam.  Every thing is going real well with that since I added a little hydroxyzine to my meds. At the end of my appointment he looked at me and said he would like to get me off the ssri (Zoloft) as soon as I am done with the lorazepam. What???? Did I hear that right?  Holy Cow  He said he considers ssri/snri as a poison and should not be used unless totally necessary. Hey, I can work with this guy!!!

5 months on cymbalta, scary side effects, to get help and to return the favor if I can.

Just my 2 cents here, would it not be better to get off Zoloft first, and keep the lorazepam for the withdrawal?

Withdrawal can so trigger the fear or the anxiety, especially if we are prone to it.

Normally they would do that Gail but after I have been on lorazepam 6 mths I build up tolerance to it  and have to go on heavy doses. I was on 1 mg/day when I first started during the Cymbalta withdrawal and was up to 6 mg/day after 6 months. That is when I put a stop to adding any more and they started using hydroxyzine and a little additional clonidine to help my fear. In addition, after 6 months I develop a strong fatigue from the lorazepam and it is very difficult to force yourself to function. I have to admit though that for 6 months or so it does a great job for me but when I built up the tolerance the fear came back with a vengeance!!  lol

Hi Fishinghat, You have a really good Dr.; working your way off lorazapam, then Zoloft.  My Dr. has started tapering me of clonazapam; 1mg to .75 to start. My hubby went from 1.5 to .5 w/o a problem.

Good for you and God Bless.

I pray for better weather in your area. Looks like we lost our rose bush, but things have come back here through worse situations.

Hello everyone, it's 5am down under & I'm sipping a mug of hot water with Apple cider vinegar & honey . I am positive that I am experiencing more good days now & that excites me.

I can feel my body repairing itself , slowly but surely . I have some pains that were not there previously, but I am sure that that will sort itself out eventually .
Suddenly My hips hurt when I stand up & walk , I think this could be from sitting around so much during my recovery.
It's Easter this weekend so I went shopping yesterday & bought easter eggs for the grandchildren , it's also school holidays so the shopping centre was packed with very noisy children .
Normally this would overwhelm me but yesterday it didn't & I actually enjoyed a lovely afternoon of shopping. No anxiety attack or feeling breathless....yeahhhh DEFINATELY a positive.

I have a son who is on business in Kuala Lumpa for a week , a daughter & her family flying to Fiji for a holiday & another daughter & her family going away camping for a week . Normally , as a mother I would be full of concern for their safety but I am managing to stay calm & not worry about them too much . This is unusual for me , so that's another positive & a sign that I AM HEALING mentally as well .

Wow guys, there really is a life after withdrawing from CYMBALTA CRAP !..
I can tell from all your posts, that everyone of you are mending as well .

Footnote: I have been overloading myself with good healthy vegetables everyday , lots of spinach, broccoli, cauliflower , snap peas & carrots & pumpkin.
Also taking, fish oil, vit D , Vit C,Folic acid, vit B12 & iron
Don't know if this has helped but it can't hurt.
Thinking of each & everyone of you every day .
Stay strong everyone... Xxxx

Wagtail, I like seeing your post and love hearing you are doing well.  Your healthy living inspires me all the time; I need to eat more carrots  .

Stay well. You are in my thoughts each day too :) .

Carleeta, looks like you will have your new home in order very soon. :)

We've been in our home over 3 years and only have 1 thing completed on the list.  Before my next position, I have to take some wallpaper down.

Xman, Always good to hear from you.  I hope everything is going well at work.  Try making a list of your favorite links on a Word doc or an email. Copy, paste, and hit Enter; once is blue and underlined, there's more information behind it. An old teacher tip. :)

Me, I'm still looking for a new position, spending time with Hubby, and practicing patience more. Secret learned today: There's never a good time to worry.

Prayer and Thoughts for Everyone.

Good find for FH on the MD that knows it's vital to get off the crapalta. Just by the way, A close friend/ family had little trouble getting off Lexapro. Since it is a tablet, he scored and/ or used a pill slicer. Weaned in a week without little untoward side effects.

Welcome phillyguy1...  Happy that you found us - you will find many kind, supportive and knowledgeable ppl here! :) (you have been Crapalta-free for about 6 weeks, right?)

I am in the 13th week of cold turkey survival and things really do get better!  I'm not saying that it's all over, but good days are many now with only an occasional bad day thrown in.  You have a couple of weeks to go before you start to feel human again. I'm not sure when everything will leave but I am able to function much better and even the short term memory is getting better, so am hoping  the worst is over.  I did have the help of Alprazolam along the way and I have hydrocodone for break through pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis.  I did not experience some of the same w/d as others - no brain zaps, dizziness or nausea, but I had plenty of others in their place along with terrible weeping at the drop of a hat.

Please keep us posted as to your progress and feel free to come on here to just vent if you need to!  (I just did that last nite!)  We are here for you and offer our support  - again, welcome!

Good luck

Liz :)

Welcome phillyguy1,

Liz is right, this is a good place to come anytime; to vent, look for information, share, or just read.

I took my last 4 week ago today.  I bead counted, so my symptoms weren't as bad either.  I still take 1mg of clonazepam to help with any anxiety.  I start tapering off today.

Keep us posted.

We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations!  You have really worked hard through all the w/d's and accomplished much! :D  You are truly a remarkable lady and we really enjoy having you here and reading of your adventures!

Wishing all of you a good day, whether or not you celebrate the day, with kids, grandchildren, family, or family-like friends. I am expected at a family function in another city...An Italian get together--lots of ppl.!
