In the future want 2B off Cymbalta! The physicians are no help. Looking for understanding, support & encouragement as I know this is a difficult process. Want 2 be of help 2 others who will find this site looking for same things as I.

Posted 31 March 2014 - 12:01 AM

My positive for this day was early church and then some equine therapy this afternoon.

The breeze was cool but the SUN was out!

However we have  'frost' warning for the next couple nights but Tuesday will bring a temp into the 80s! A wonderful 2 hours ride with my sister and friend. So wonderful riding my trusty little stead. "Hershey" aka "H"....how I love this little 14HH sweet racking horse..

He has been so good for me. When I was forced to retire my nursing career it was he that gave me reason to get up in the mornings.

I enjoy such things as mucking/cleaning his stall as this activity has caused my bones to become stronger and that's a good thing!

Well I plan to get in as much time in my saddle as I possibly can until the time for my hip surgery. Then hopefully 'back in my saddle" in 6 weeks following surgery..

Anyhow that my happy for this day and I hope to have some more days of this nature. I again want to thank those forum friends here who have been beside me every step of my journey as I've been to hell and back. I am now about a dozen days off this poison and continue to make the best that I can with my brain/body after the results of having been of this nasty drug for approx. 2 years.

I am glad for the ppl who are helped with this drug. I however was NOT one of them. It did me no good except try it's best to destroy  short term memory, among "other" things. I want it back and am working to regain it as best I can. I will take whatever I have left and be thankful for it!

I plan to stay on the forum and help those who are looking for a way to reclaim their lives after this nasty poison is done...

God bless,

Love, support and prayers,

TheEquusWoman

EW.... as I am formulating my post to you in my mind, tears are  here again.  omgoodness, will this ever stop?  I feel as if you are a friend that I have had for years.

I know the feeling you have for Hershey, as I had that for my dear horse as well.  I love the smell of a stable!   I have been that way since I was in 5th grade! :)

You will continue to be in my prayers thanking you for your support and kindness as well as wishing all the best for your upcoming surgery.  I am happy that you will not be leaving the forum - I intend to stick around too as I start my 11th week off of that crap.

I cannot thank you enough for being such a kind, wonderful and helpful lady -  may God continue to bless you.

Hugs,

Liz

I spent a total of 10 hours on my lounge the other day because a I was just too damn exhausted to do anything else . I don't want to do that again , so I have to stop trying so hard to force my recovery .
No more 2 hour gym workouts for me. :-(
My positive is that I am going to accept things for what they are & deal with it one day @ a time .

I went shopping yesterday but needed to take 2 mg Zanax before I left home ... That's ok though because it's a temporary thing & soon I will not need anything to help me cope .
Being more positive is my positive ...
I'm up @ 5am today because I couldn't sleep so I am reading many posts from the US as they are posted , hello all my overseas buddies.
Have a great Cymbalta free day !..:-)

Wagtail, Good Morning.  (I ran out of likes) "...stop trying hard to force my recovery..." You should put these words in bold font on your fridge and 'no more 2 hour workouts' should have a smiley face. :)   That's a lot of work. Thinks of ways you enjoy to relax; the brain will fix itself with things you enjoy too. :)

EquusWoman, I've wanted a horse since I saw one at my Great-Grandfather's farm. You and Hershey are so lucky to have each other for so many reasons. I still believe I will have a horse one day. Like Carleeta said, you are and inspiration to all. :)

God bless us all.

tryinginfl: you are such a blessing to me and others on this forum. I realize that we are all cyberspace friends but "friends" just the same. The members here on the forum "understand" me they "relate 2 me" and that has made all the difference in the world. Just knowing that there are others here who know the journey I have taken, the path that I have walked.

You are so correct in that there IS nothing quite like the scent of a horse...I love that scent. I can lift my little horses Hershey's mane, bury my nose there on his neck and literally feel my BP and stress level decrease. Nothing like that equine scent except my husband's cologne and that is a whole 'nother category! lol

I would never leave this forum. I do know that some find the forum, make their journey and then move on. Some of those ppl I do wonder how their getting along but I will always say a daily prayer for them and keep them close to my heart. I feel that I've known you for a while and I'm glad to have met you. The ppl here have something in common with one another and that's just such a special thing IMHO.

May God bless & keep you and yes we shall keep in touch, cuz that's what friends do

wagtail I like your way of thinking. accept things for what they are and deal with it one day @ a time. Our mom always used to tell us that "one day at a time" we even had it engraved on her grave headstone. That's the way she lived...

I am glad that this forum has ppl here from the world over! In this together we are and out of it we shall come!

Awww y'all are just the greatest friends anyone could ever have. I mean that from the bottom of my heart!

Yes when my nursing career came to an end and depression set in due to the long difficult recovery from the surgery...it was the love of horses that got me through it. After a long extensive and painful rehab following the surgery for the 3rd time I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd one day have a little horse of my own. I was blessed with a little sister who taught me to ride at age 55 and it was she who picked out my Hershey for me....

I  plan to  stay on board here and help the members who are fortunate enough to find this forum. Help them to make the journey to hell and back. Thankful always for the ppl here who helped me while seeking my way OFF the Cymbalta poison. Without their help I could have never made it. I am grateful always for this.

TryinginFL. .lol lol..I meant to type Fresh bananas. .lol lol...Yes I suffer with a great deal of anxiety and lightheadedness. ..When I spoke to my psychologist on Saturday one of his answers to the high anxiety is to release it productivily..Therefore the more I keep myself busy and/or scheduled the more I direct this anxiety away from me the less it will be building up...Therefore that's what I'm doing....Need to give what he says a try! Lol lol...I've always had to be doing something or I would go nutty...lol lol

I too had a visual of the fish banana-I wondered if it was a plantain  (sp)-they grow upside down and are a staple in Central America.  I have really enjoyed this thread and am thinking about going to Georgetown, Texas to help out on their Equine therapy program. What a win-win that would be IF I can motivate and push past my obstacles from the craplata s/e. I certainly have time off in the week which makes me positive I need to take a page from Clareeta.  And Wagtail and Liz et al!!!!!

And I positively love ClearGlass' use of the smiles and other co-emotions :D :D :D WOOF!
