My suggestion would be to remove 5 beads more each day. I think if you go for any more than that you would be inviting the spinal headaches back. At any point iif the symptoms just get to great then go back up 5 beads and stay there until the symptoms let up and you feel that you can handle cutting back again. This is a slow method but usually causes a lot less heartaches. Be sure and keep us posted on how you are doing. Don't hesitate if you have any questions. Good Luck

So I have been back on cymbalta and feeling better then I did trying to go cold turkey... I'm really interested in doing this bead counting method because I no longer want anything to do with this drug! However, I have heard lots about it it but I don't know where to start :s Please give me advice on how many beads I should start with taking out and how often I should increase the amount to remove.. Also how many to remove when I increase... I have been on this drug for just over 2 1/2 years now if that helps as to decipher how I should do this... And I also have a major problem with spinal headaches.. So I'm hoping to do this without the headaches or nausea because that was the killer going cold turkey.. I'm the kinda person where I have to "plan" it all out and know exactly what I'm doing so any help would be great! Thanks

Make sure you take the vitamin/mineral supplements and omega 3 too. When you are getting down to low doses you may have to only take out 3 beads a day.
If you have some empty capsules that you can buy at most pharmacies, you can put the beads that you take out each day into a capsule and tape that capsule to a sheet of paper and write on the paper the number of beads that are in each capsule. That way you don't have to buy extra pills from the halfway point.
Good luck dear and keep us posted.

I'd like to piggyback on chelseychel's question. Is is best to remove the beads and then put the remaining beads in a new capsule? If so, could anyone tell me where I can find the capsules? I'm not really great with "fine motor skills," so I can just see myself scattering beads all over the counter top. So any ideas about the mechanics of this would be appreciated. Normally I could probably figure it out, but my initial drop from 30 mg to 20 mg has given me what I have started to call "mush brain."
Thanks everyone. Good luck Chelseychels.

Jima and Chelseychels
Open the capsules slowly and carefully over a large bowl or plate. A colored bowl or plate works best as the beads are tiny and white.
Hold the capsule close to the bowl/plate and just tilt the capsule a little bit and the beads will start to fall out.
I bought my capsules at the drugstore.
If you push on the beads with your finger they will stick to your finger and then it is easy to transfer them to the new capsule or back into the first capsule if too many came out.
I know what you mean about the "mush brain".
I called it "Crapbrain mush"
"Crapbrain mush" is a temporary brain malfunction caused by discontinuing Crapalta which was trying to rewired your brain. Recommended treatment for Crapbrain mush is reducing exposure to Crapalta slowly; eating lots of healthy food, especially veggies and citrus or tropical fruits; drinking lots of water; sleeping as needed; and distracting yourself with interesting or amusing activities.
Okay so my sense of humour is back but you have no idea how long it has taken me to type this out.

Hi Chelseychels
There are 200 small beads in a 60mg capsule
There are anywhere from 180 - 280 tiny beads in a 30mg - I have no idea why they are different but thankfully each capsule in a package has the same number of beads.
Someone else will have to tell you about the 20mg ones as I have never had them.
Take care
