Why is it that when your sad, the Doctors automatically assume you need to be on an anti-depressant? I tried many and couldn't take any until the Doctor gave me Cymbalta which she said would only take 5 days to work and make me feel great and so I started taking them. I only took 20mg a day and I can't believe how bad the withdrawals are. The Doctors also say anti-depressants aren't addicting, why the hell do you have withdrawals then if their not? So does anyone know how long it takes to feel normal again? It's only been 6 days, so I'm sure I have a way to go, thanks
Well several truths in there, sadness doesn't automatically mean depression. You can also complain to your doc she lied to you that cymbalta would work in 5 days, standard response time for antidepressants is two to three weeks.
And yes, antidepressants aren't addicting. You don't get the same craving for them you'd get for heroine or other addictive drugs. The problem is your body does adapt to the drug and when you remove it the withdrawal symptoms occour until the body can sort itself out.
