Interested to hear people's experiences on the weight issue, which is a common side effect of antidepressants, as we all know.
Cymbalta is meant to be "weight neutral", but I find that hard to believe.
Thanks everyone!

Welcome PW!!
After years on this site I fully agree with you. Many have commented on the weight gain they experienced while on Cymbalta. My memory says that most experienced weight loss after coming off it. i would caution you that trying to lose weight while coming off Cymbalta can make the withdrawal much worse. Cymbalta is fat soluble so some of the extra Cymbalta that your body uses is stored in fat tissue. As weight is lost this Cymbalta is believed to be released into the blood stream and can cause ups and downs in the blood levels of Cymbalta and make the withdrawal more erratic including the emotional symptoms experienced. At least that is what people's experiences on the site indicate. There is more information in our free ebook on this subject.

Thanks fishing hat, where can I find the ebook please? Had a look around but can't see it. I so appreciate your help.
A few years back I tried the weight loss drug Xenical and it caused me to go into depression. It wasn't til I realised that Cymbalta is fat soluble that I could put cause of that depressive spell down to Xenical.
Xenical reduces your body's fat absorption from meals. Which also means it reduces the efficacy of medications like Cymbalta that need fat to make them work. The result? The depresssion and anxiety that Cymbalta is treating comes back.
